Camomile healing
If it is important to treat simple stomach pains, then, depending on the severity of the case, a strict diet lasting up to several days, lukewarm chamomile tea as the only drink is extremely good. The chamomile has an anti-inflammatory, slightly calming, cramp-relieving and therefore pain-relieving effect. Much does not help much here. But on the contrary. The infusion of chamomile tea must be weak, about 1 teaspoon of chamomile flowers in 2 - 3 cups. In higher doses it can be irritating, whereas in weak solutions it can have a soothing effect.
If there are fermentation processes in the stomach and intestines at the same time, it is advisable to add a little caraway, fennel or aniseed to increase the effect, which then contain processes that do not ferment. If there is insufficient bile secretion at the same time, adding peppermint leaves to the chamomile tea is suitable. Apart from that, adding a small amount of peppermint leaves (approx. 10%) to chamomile tea significantly improves the taste of the tea, since chamomile tea does not necessarily represent a treat for all patients if taken for a long time.
In the case of a gastric ulcer with painful gastric catarrh, the addition of celandine is recommended to relieve the pain, the alkaloids of which have antispasmodic, pain relieving, choletic and bactericidal properties. If there is constipation, buckthorn bark is added to the chamomile and the intestine is emptied gently and without irritation. As a sleep-promoting tea preparation, valerian can be added to the tea mixture with a teaspoon of honey.
Uses of chamomile tea
Chamomile tea infusions are not only effective for internal use. Where other means fail, they provide help as mouth rinsing for injuries or inflammation of the mucous membranes. In the case of poorly healing wounds and open legs, you can take chamomile tea baths or serve with a thin infusion of chamomile tea.
The chamomile head steam bath for catarrh of the upper airways and bronchi is also very promising. The chamomile vapors penetrate everywhere, even where ointments, drops, juice or pastilles cannot come into direct contact with the diseased mucous membranes, and have an incomparably soothing and healing effect. Chamomile has also found a firm place in cosmetics. They can be found as an additive in many skin care products.
Another form of application is the chamomile sachet. You fill the chamomile flowers in a small linen bag, place it on a sieve and heat it over steam. There is hardly any other medicinal plant that has as many beneficial properties as chamomile. The improvement of digestion by chamomile in vegetative intestinal disorders is not generally known. This leads to tension and cramping of the intestinal ring muscles. One speaks then of intestinal spasms. The antispasmodic effect of chamomile has a positive effect if you use the following recipe: Do not take more than 4g of chamomile in a cup and boil it in white wine for 1 - 2 minutes. The brew is sifted through and drunk in sips, preferably before going to bed.
Medicinal properties of chamomile for women
In addition to its healing properties, chamomile also has a deodorant effect. Repeated washing with chamomile tea will remove even strong game and poultry odor. Few housewives or housemen know that. Chamomile also holds a firm place in gynecology. It is used as feverfew (Matricaria chamomilli) in a number of ways.
Chamomile can be used for baths, especially hip baths and douches. The muscles of the abdominal organs are favorably influenced by chamomile. Above all, abdominal cramps subside very quickly. After abdominal operations, Sitz baths with Kamillosan are often prescribed and have positive effects.
Cramp-like menstrual cramps can also be reduced and often completely eliminated by bathing, rinsing and drinking chamomile tea, which always has an antispasmodic effect.
