constipation represents a "secret" widespread disease with its spread and at the same time as a shame-ridden topic. To eliminate it, a large number of medicinal laxatives are available in pharmacies, which in the long term, however, cause intestinal sluggishness and dependence. In the natural way, however, without harmful side effects, home remedies achieve an effective remedy.
What helps against constipation?
Dried fruits have a stimulating effect on the intestines.A healthy diet is the basis for a life without constipation problems. There is no longer any room for fast food and ready-made meals; instead, they leave their place on the menu for freshly prepared meals with green salads or raw vegetables as the first course.
Dietary fiber is particularly beneficial for digestion. They bind water in the large intestine, swell and in this way stimulate bowel movements. People should consume between 25 and 30 grams of fiber per day. They are mainly found in vegetables such as peas, beans, carrots and white cabbage, but also in cereals, bran and potatoes. Five small snacks each day made up of fruits such as apples, oranges, or pears are recommended.
Other fruits that have a beneficial effect on digestion are seed grapes and watermelons. The minimum daily consumption should be 350 grams of untreated grapes, or half of a large melon. This shows the most effective effect pure, without mixed with other fruits, and enjoyed on an empty stomach.
In addition to digestible food, the intestine needs enough water to moisturize it. The consumption of at least two liters of non-carbonated water per day results in regular bowel movements and at the same time a health prophylaxis for all body organs.

Until, for example, a change in diet or increased exercise show success with digestion, fast-acting laxatives from the medicine cabinet can be used.
This includes plum juice in the first place. The dried fruits soaked in water overnight are consumed in the morning with a glass of the liquid on an empty stomach. If it is unsuccessful, the amount can be increased to two glasses. After that, however, you should wait a day, as the effect may arise a little later. The intestine reacts equally stimulated to other dried fruits such as figs.
These are handled in a similar way to the plums, or they can be eaten with a large glass of water without first soaking. The five fruits can be eaten approximately every three hours until the desired success.
The bark of the slippery elm is also ideal for constipation. Their natural mucilage surrounds the stool like a lubricant and helps them on their way to the anus. Slippery elm bark is also used for intestinal irritation or chronic intestinal inflammation. A teaspoon of natural olive oil taken in the morning does a similar job.
An enema aligns absolute immediate help. With a mini enema, the so-called irrigator, lukewarm water, including herbal tea such as the one made from chamomile, is flushed through the anus into the intestine, thereby activating the intestinal peristalsis. Enemas are used for a variety of complaints. By completely emptying and cleaning your bowels, they counteract headaches, colds and allergies, for example.

Digestive vegetable juices are another alternative to medication as a laxative. They are made from sauerkraut, carrots and tomatoes, if necessary with the addition of a pepper or chilli pepper for intestinal hygiene. Natural honey also plays a role as a gentle home remedy for activating the intestines, while coffee consumption also triggers stress in the body. In addition, linseed (approx. 5 tablespoons) soaked in water overnight ensure healthy bowel movements.
Exercise is particularly important for body health. A functional bowel is also dependent on sporting activities. If these have to be canceled due to age or illness, at least gymnastic exercises are recommended. All movements that strain the abdominal muscles also get the bowels going. Exercises are usually done from the supine position or, alternatively, while sitting in a chair.
For bed-ridden, immobile patients, the "bowel massage" is an option. It is carried out several times a day on the abdomen in the direction of the bowel from the bottom right, above the navel to the bottom left and each takes about ten minutes.
